Setting Up Microsoft SNDS

Before you connect SNDS to your account, you need access to your IP ranges in Smart Network Data Services. This is a one-time setup you do directly with Microsoft, and it is the same whether or not you use Generator Labs.

1. Sign in to SNDS​

Go to Smart Network Data Services and sign in with the Microsoft account you want to use. If you do not have one, you can create a free personal Microsoft account.

2. Request access to your IP ranges​

In SNDS, request access for the IP ranges you send mail from. Microsoft sends an approval request to the registered contact for each netblock (usually your hosting provider, or whoever owns the IP space), who must approve it before any data appears.

3. Wait for data to populate​

Once your access is approved, Microsoft begins publishing data for IPs that send enough volume to Outlook.com. A new or low-volume IP may show no data for a while. That is normal, and our connection handles it gracefully: the IP is still monitored, it simply has no data until Microsoft publishes it.

What you do not need to do​

You do not need to register an Azure application, create an API key, or generate an access key. The connection uses Microsoft's own SNDS sign-in; you only authorize read access in the next step.
