Enabling the Checks

Connecting a Google account imports the data; you still choose which checks run by enabling them on your Monitoring Profiles, under RBL Monitoring ➡️ Manage ➡️ Monitoring Profiles ➡️ Data Sources.

The Postmaster Tools checks apply to domain (URIBL) hosts and appear for any premium account, whether or not a Google account is connected yet, so you can enable them ahead of time.

Premium Sources tab​

The reputation-style rate checks live here:

  • Spam Rate and Delivery Errors are enabled by default.

Email Deliverability tab​

The authentication and TLS rates, plus the pass/fail compliance checks, live here alongside your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC record checks. They are available but off by default, so enable the ones you want:

  • SPF Auth, DKIM Auth, DMARC Auth (authentication rates)
  • TLS Inbound, TLS Outbound (encryption rates)
  • SPF Compliance, DKIM Compliance, DMARC Policy, DMARC Alignment
  • One-Click Unsubscribe, Honor Unsubscribe

How alerts work​

  • Rate checks alert when a metric crosses the threshold on the connection: spam rate or delivery errors going above the threshold, or an authentication / TLS rate dropping below it.
  • Compliance checks alert when Google reports the requirement as failing.

Rate checks are gated on how much mail you actually have in that direction, so a direction with no traffic does not false-alarm. For example, a send-only domain that receives no mail from Gmail will show 0% outbound TLS, and we will not flag it, because there were no outbound messages to encrypt.

Because Google's data lags a few days, alerts resolve automatically once a healthy value is imported, or if the connection stops importing entirely. A domain with no Postmaster data simply produces no alerts.

Thresholds​

Thresholds are set per connection (during setup, or later by editing the connection). The same thresholds apply to every domain on that connection. The defaults follow Google's published guidance, for example a 0.10% spam-rate ceiling.
